I already knew that. Pick the 268 one then for sure. Just in case someone trys to lead you astray NOBODY else make this type of cam currently. They are very good with mild manners. I live in Canada. My weather would be no different probaly on average than yours. I am a cheap person to being descended from Schwaben ancestors who are the people who taught the Scottish and the Dutch how to save money. My Max Wedge gets almost 15 MPG Imp (14.97 on last check)Engine are funny things. much like the tank circuit in RF studies. Best power and least fuel consumption er HP occur in concert wth each other. it is too big a subject to cover here. Simply put the better the set up the better the MPG and the HP. For years car comanies tryed all sorts of make it super lean . like Mopars Lean burn and its FMC Lincoln equivalent, and GM with lean mixtures and 080" gap plugs to try and make it fire, then somone realized no it doesnt work that way and sanity return. now e have 3 and 40 hp cars givuing decnt gas mileage andmaking as much r more power that we did back in the day. I understand what you want. I have built a lot of these for cusomers when i ran my shop and still spec them out for other shops. In fact I am involved inone with another shop right now. A360 for a 67 Dart owned by a friends wife. You want decent power (As much as you can have within your parameters. ) You dont want a bone shaking torqueconverter killing idle , you want it to have decent manners like a factory Hi perf car. Not like a race car. And you dont want black soot washing off the bumper and constant trips to the gas station. This is the best cam for you engine. Carbs mix gas per the volume of air that flows through them. A Holley (for example) 600, 750 and 850 all leave holley set up to produce the same air fuel ratio say for instance 14.7 to 1 AFR. A 850 doesnt run richer than a 600 unless some one rejets it so. Both are designed to mix 1 lb. of fuel for every 14.7 .lbs of air that goes through it. period. Jet size is intially choosen as being 1 /240th of throttle bore and then corrected to idle mixture Stoichiometric which is 14.7 to 1 . I won't steer you wrong Erik.Don D Don----- Original Message ----- From: "Knud-Erik Holm" <kebh@xxxxx>To: <1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, April 17, 2009 3:06 AM Subject: SV: SV: 360 camshaftI have been reading the link Gary sent me. It makes me realize that I needto give you more information. I am building this car for running on the street, not the strip(long, not short runs). I rate steering and handlingvery high. I am irritated by these Japanese cars that are buzzing around inmy neighbourhood. The fuel here I Denmark is 92, 95 and on sometimes 98octane. It is mild weather (15 to 25 degrees farhrenhight) in summer. Therewill be no winter driving with this one. I value a decent idle,(a-833 4-speed). So I suppose it is more like #43 Nascar track style. Thanks, Gary H.You replied that the lift should be under .500, what about duration(I am not to strong in knowledge about cams) has it any significance?
