I assumed he was talking the blind holes in the heads. As for the torquing the bolts, you should always use oil or grease. A dry hole will give false torque specs 90 % of the time. Torque them and back off and retorque. An intake is not super criticle. Heads, caps, rods, that when it gets real serious.
Good advise though. Donnie----- Original Message ----- From: "Steven Charette" <stevec@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Good tip on the grease Donnie... you can suppliment the grease with a magnetplaced below the hole to catch anything that sneaks past the grease.Be aware that grease in the threads will cause more clamping pressure (morebolt stretch) at a given torque, so be sure not to overtighten the bolts. Put some grease on the tap so it catches the debris and it does notfall back into the motor. DONT FORCE THE TAP. Tight is tight, too tight is broke. I'm resealing the intake, timing cover and water pump. Thanks, Brian---- Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person --directly to that person.
