Zack, It is my understanding that MP electronic ignitions need at least 11VDC to operate properly... I also remember that an electronic voltage regulator was highly recommended with the MP systems (probably for this very reason). I think your hunch is spot on - you may need to pump up your charging system a bit. I know the new coil puts out a lot more voltage--is there some adjustment I need to make? The voltage regular is the original--would a new one make a difference?
