I think I read about this in the tech section somewhere, and it worked for me. If your charging system is weak run a new wire,10 gage, from the alternator stud to the starter relay stud with a fusible link wire to the starter relay stud. leave all the old wires in place but make sure the connections are clean and add the new wire with some new ring terminals crimped on. this did wonders for my charging system! my lights are brighter at idle, stereo works better etc... I just thought these alternators were low output at idle but adding this extra wire really helped. I may of read about this on the Allpar web site, they have some good tips there as well.

Are you still using the original alternater? You need to up grade to a higher amperage unit. Works fine, but when there is a power draw such as lights and/or AC running, the carstalls when the car is idling in drive. This is not due to low idle, but it seems to be an electrical problem. I know the new coil puts out a lotmore voltage--is there some adjustment I need to make? The voltage regular is the original--would a new one make a difference? Seems like it's not sending enough voltage through to feed the ignition system. Also, perhaps an unrelated problem. Shortly after install, I had problems starting the vehicle--won't turn over, seems like a neutral safety switch issue. Any connection, you think?
