The 340-cid V8 was available with or without the Formula S package (367) in 1968 and in 1969 with or without the Formula S (A53) package or with the 'Cuda 340 (A56) package.
In 1968 the 383-cid V8 was available only with the Formula S package (367) and in 1969 only with either the Formula S (A53) or the 'Cuda 383 (A57) package.
As for C bodies, the lower priced models with drum brakes offered power brakes as an option. My father had a 1970 Polara with a slant six and it did not come with the power brakes option. Power brakes were included in the disc brake option or as a mandatory option with disc brakes.

Maybe Bill can answer this one for me. I've been checking out a 69 Barracuda 340 notchback. I've owned a number of these Barracudas and I always thought to get the 340 it had to be a Formula S or have the Cuda 340 package. This car has neither but it does have the correct "P" in the vin number and the E55 engine code on the fender tag. I guess I've been wrong because I just found a 69 Fastback on the net with same setup. 340 engine code but no Formula S or Cuda. So could you order the 340 engine on a 69 Barracuda without the Formula S or Cuda package?Dan
