hi Jim,

Pretty much all that Bob K says but id add this............

after you unbolt the shock mount plates jack up the rear end housing  
itself and block it a few inches above the shock plates. leave it  
sitting there.
at this point you have no pressure on any assembly to unbolt front and  
rear shackle mounts.

then when new springs are installed just lower housing down onto the  
positioning dowels on the springs.
bolt on shock plates and shocks.
