Re: Removing leaf springs?

I would go out to the car now and spray the "U bolts" and "Shackel bolts-nuts" with CRC or WD40.

Even give them a spray as you are starting the job.

Another thing i have done in the past is buy new "U bolts and nuts" while your at the spring place.

I have found the threads will be either tight, or will get worn as you undo the nuts after 40 years of crap on them.

Subject: Removing leaf springs?

OK, another question about doing things most of you guys can do in
your sleep. But I'm always learning and someday I'll be answering
instead of asking ;)

I'm going to have the leaf springs on my 63 Polara 500 re-arched. Any
advice on the re-arching? The shop was recommended to me by a guy
from my local Mopar club.

Any advice on removing and/or installing? I've never done it before,
but I can save some coin doing it myself. I'll follow the manual, but
you guys always seem to have some undocumented tips.

As always, thanks.

P.S. I'll start hitting the nuts with some P.B. Blaster first thing
tomorrow and every day after.
