Re: 1962 Plymouth - 361 or 360?

Good points Gary.

It is unclear to me if the goal of Knud-erik is high performance. If so, a hopped up 360 is a good choice. Mopar Action did a similar build on a 1962 Plymouth using a 360 FI engine and were blown away with the results; they loved it. To me that configuration is a modern street rod. (Note: no bow tie 350 in sight!)

On the other hand, the stock 361 with a 4bbl will provide provide plenty of butt torque and move that Sport Fury effortlessly. 361 is a baby 383 in effect. Big block torque comes naturally. :) The heads can be reworked to use unleaded. TTI headers will work well. The 361 car is period correct.

Built right, either motor will be very reliable.

Just my 2 pennies.

I can't help him with finding a flywheel but maybe someone here can.

Thanks,
Gary H.
