Wayne, Your best source would be to have your existing valve covers chromed. You may check your local re-chrome shops for pricing. If you run into problems or need another quote on rechroming I can check our local shop for pricing for you. Additionally, I do have a set of the ultra-rare Edelbrock finned aluminum valve covers for the Poly but they are expensive.

Wayne, if you have the original 318 that came with your car from the factory, it is the "A" engine, otherwise known as the "wideblock" or "poly" due to its polyspherical (semi-hemi) heads. The '66 up 318's which began as 273 cube motors, are known as the "LA" engines and today's 5.2 & 5.9 liter motors are the latest versions of the "LA" motors. Later "A" 318's had 2 bolt valve covers, while earlier 318's (& the even earlier 277-301-303-313s) had 3 bolt valve covers. Edelbrock used to make a nice ribbed valve cover for our "A" motors, but don't think there are any new sources for chrome valve covers today.Jack Lewis 1956 Plymouth Fury 1962 Dodge Polara 500----- Original Message ----- From: "Wayne Huseby" <wchuseby@xxxxxxxxxx>To: <1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, April 19, 2008 6:01 PM Subject: chrome valve coversI am looking for a source for chrome valve covers. I have a 64 318 with 2 hold down bolts. Most parts stores I have checked look at me in disbelief when I tell them on 2 hold down bolts. Is this 318 considered and A engine. I did a google and someone mentioned the 318 A engine with 2 valve cover bolts. If this is different than other 318s what else might be unique about them and why is it called an A engine.
