Doug, I have seen this problem before, usually on aluminum, spread-bore intakes using square-bore carbs. The squeal is coming from the base of the carb not sealing completely to the intake face. Edelbrock makes a thin, metal plate to correct this, but I have fixed it by using a thick, wide mounting gasket. Sounds like a she-demon got caught in the carb, right?
