The only time I've had engine paint last was after the motor was steam cleaned, baked, and shot blasted at a machine shop.

  Since I finally found a stock 4bbl intake, I'm obviously going to have
  to paint it. Since no one makes a hi-temp powder coat in red it looks
  like I'm stuck w/ "engine paint" or standard powder. How well will
  regular powder hold up on and intake? Does anyone have any tips to
  getting "engine paint" to actually last and not peel or discolor after
  2-3 warm-ups?
