Piston Ring vs Stroker Piston Question

All, am in the process of finally putting together my 451 stroker motor for
my 64 Sport Fury. I am using using a set of Keith Black 280 stoker pistons
withe the quench pad milled to fit my heads (ported 462's) with Total Seal
gap less 2nd rings. My problem lies with the oil ring groove on the pistons,
they come with a supprt rail (.030" thick) to cover the wrist pin bore gap.
With this support rail it is impossible to install the oil ring (upper/lower
rail plus expander) due to lack of clearance. KB tech says run with out the
support, while Total Seal tech recommends not doing that ad getting the oil
ring groove milled/widened the required .030". This is my first stroker and
thought I would throw this out to the group. Opinions? Comments?
Thanks in advance
