Ma Mopar was big on dual point distributors. Plymouth 383s, at least through '64 had dual point distributors. After that I have no idea. For '63 and '64 Plymouth offered only the 330 hp motor with a 4 bbl. Dodge during that time also offered a 2 bbl version of the 383. Don't remember the hp rating. Depending on the year you're rebuilding either one could be correct. The one I'm restoring has a single point distributor. I was told by a local Mopar enthusiast that the single point distributor cars had a lower compression ratio from the factory than the dual point distributor cars. Is this a fact? If so, what was the difference and how did they achieve the difference? Thanks/ Butch/ Fernale, WA ---- Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
