Re: 440 swaps

Is it true the 5.7s take a special engine oil not a standard 10w30 or 5w30 oil? ----- Original Message ----- From: "William Cole" <wedge64@xxxxxxxxxxx>

PS Anyone know if the new 5.7 Hemi can be bolted to a 904 or 727?

Don,
I'm on a RumbleBee site because I own a '05 RumbleBee and I believe
there has been talk on there about the 5.7 Hemi WILL bolt to the 727.
I'm not positive but I am pretty sure. Might be something to look into.
In a stock truck that weighs 5000 pounds, these trucks are running high
14's in two wheel drive, (4 wheel trucks are a little slower because of
the extra weight), so that motor in a lighter 62 to 65 car should run
high 12's I would think. Might be a neat swap.

Early Mopars from 57 or 58 on came with B series motors. first was the
350 (HELLO!!!!) then the 361 then there was an RB 383 and a B 383
(diffferent strokes for different folks) so it should be easy. me i would
forget the later cars and buy the 56 wagon. With a OrRstyle 440 you could
give the Nomad guys heart failure.
many moons ago when i was younger I used to go to Georgetown Dragway near
Toronto. Therewas a felow there running a 56 Ply and it would leave with
a short wheelie and run high 12s. I asked him aboutit and he told me he
had bougt a new first generation GTX. In a moment of bad judgement he
went for a blast while under the influence and wrote the almost new GTX
off. since he was drinking the insurance told him to get stuffed (they
can do that here if you were underthe influence) so he took his wrecked
GTX and swapped the complete Drivetrain untouched into his former car the
56 Ply 2 dr , the 440 , the 4 speed and 4,10 Dana. Later I met another
fellow who had seen it and was doing an automatic car.The chevy guys were
actually angry because they were running 13 and 14s and this dark green
Plymouth could put them away with ease. I thought is was a wonderful
car. The same in a wagon would be brutal.
