Hi Neal,I always install the transmission from underneath especially if we've just restored the engine bay. I find you have to tilt the entire assembly way too much when you install it in one piece and the chances are pretty good that something is going to get scratched. When you install the engine separate, you can pretty much drop it straight down into the compartment. Of course you could always install the assembly from below like the factory did. We've done that on a couple Hemi cars and E-bodies with 440 engines. Good luck.

Off topic sorry, but i dont know what to do, its my 67 coronet, i yanked the motor and tranny for engine compartment painting so its all pretty in there now, but i dont know if i should reinstall the 273/904 as an assembly, or try to put in the engine then bring the tranny up from underneath.
