The heater control valve and core are both new, although there were some problems found w/ the core during installation. I also discovered that the newly rebuilt valve is sticking and JC Auto Resto was nice enough to send me another one so I can replace the defective unit. I'll probably warranty replace the core when I get the box out to change the valve. BTW, I didn't pull the heater box the first time, the guy I bought it from did. my heater valve failed along time ago, and was rusted out pretty bad. so, I had it welded up, and ran a cable out to an inline valve I installed in the heater hose inlet side. It works great except the lever on the dash now works backwards. that was about 15 years ago and no leaks. but you should be able to get it fixed properly now a days.
