Hi Neal,

We all feel your pain. One of the biggest problems
with our hobby is that it's not just for hobbyists
anymore. We have investors, flippers, and crooks in
our hobby. As long as there are dollars to be made
that won't change.

But luckily this is the small minority of the car
enthusiasts. The best way that I have found to buy a
car, (which I personally do like E-Bodies), is to get
to know the owners. I have a 70 challenger, original
owner car that optioned just the way I like that I've
been trying to buy for over 6 months now. The owner
isn't ready to sell even though it's rotting in his
front yard. Do I care if it's worth 5,000 or 50,000.
Nope. I just like the car. It's built the way I
would have bought the car if I was older.

I know many a car buyer that buys cars that aren't for
sale. The owner is maybe, possiblity thinking of
selling the car. They approach the owner with some
money and true interest in the car. Many, many times
they are able to buy the car.

Our cars are gems. Whether a max original or clone,
our favorite 318 poly, or unbreakable slant 6. They
are all wonderful, fun, full of character. They have
personality. You just have to find out which ones you
like.

We in California are getting hit with a new smog law
that will put a lot of cars off the street. It's a
perfect change to pick up some new iron.

And our day will come when mopars aren't the hot topic
of the month... And then, just like now, those of us
who love our cars for the enjoyment they bring and not
the $$'s will still be with the cars.

It's time to find some more deals, give impressionable
teens rides in our cool cars and spread the mopar
word. Our cars are to be shared and enjoyed by all.

tomcat
who does own a 70 e Body, but still likes Neal!
and really misses his 65 plymouth satellite 318 jewel!
