I'm not sure what your problem is, but it sure can't hurt to have an extra ECU and voltage regulator. you could try one at a time and see if the problem clears up?

How about it? Does anyone know if this is normal or it there is something wrong with the ignition? Thanks, Ken

Hi all,
I am using the factory electronic ignition that came with my 400. I am
not sure if I have a problem or not. The car acts like it needs a
tune-up, but the question is...
When I turn the ignition on (without starting the engine) I hear a spark
snapping sound coming from the distributor. In fact I pulled a plug
wire off the distributor and a spark is jumping the 1/4 inch gap between
the wire and the cap. With the car not running it will just keep
jumping about every half second. I know this is not right for a point
ignition system, but is it right for an electronic ignition? If not
what could the problem be? A bad black (or chrome) box?
Thanks in advance, Ken
