This is not normal. The reluctor on the distributor shaft is what tells
the pickup when to signal the ECU to fire. It should not be firing on
it's own. I have seen spark before, by just turning the key on, but not
continuous firing. Buy a cheap ECU to prove the old one is whacked. Tom
