I too have no help.
That's why I came up with the method.
By the way, the light will only light up in neutral.
Not reverse,

I do use a piece of duct tape to hold the reverse button down when I 
insert the cable into the case.
That duct tape is "mamma's little helper".

Reverse pushes the button in the farthest.

I used Jimmy Peavy's method of using the neutral starting switch and a 
test light.  That way I knew that when the light came on in reverse, I 
still had to push the cable into the tranny a bit more.

Thanks Jimmy for the tip otherwise you need two people and I rarely get 
help.
