64 is the last year for the pushbutton... the 65 is a 2 cable shifter setup 
(like the pushbutton) but has a different valve body that would need to be 
swapped with a pushbutton one to use the buttons. 65 has the slip yolk 727 
for small block and bigblock and the valve body will work for a floor 
shifter or a column unit. the 65 904 was a ball and trunion so there are 65 
trans without the slip yolk on 273 and /6 cars....
