You swap the ring and pinion gears, and retain the sure grip.
You will need special tools to set up the gear .

One thing I'm don't have a lot of knowledge about is the rear axle, but I'm learning every day. My 64 Polara has 2.76:1 gear ratio w/the SureGrip from the factory.

If I bought some new 3.73:1 ratio gears, can I just swap 'em out, and does the Sure Grip stay in the car, or do I need something new? Are they seperate parts (the sure grip and the actual gears) or is it all one assembly?

Thanks!
