I think you will find people interested in the differential. It is the first year that did not have tapered axel shafts. The ratio is probably not the best for a V8 however a complete center section can be swapped in. I went to many yards looking for a 65 or later for my 63 SF and finally found one that I probably paid too much for that has either 2.92 or 2.93, forgot the ratio just to get the housing. If anyone has the information the 65 differential may not be as wide and will help with tire size. Dennis C. For originality, I want to install the rear axle assembly from my '64 440 4-dr parts car which is 318 poly/auto trans. Is there any difference between the rear end axle ratios used for 318 poly/auto and 383/auto engine cars? > > Also, the 65 rear axle assy was from /6 manual shift car, is this useable or worth anything? -- -- Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
