There were also three built that were Max Wedge  hardtops, that were 
trim delete cars.(missing the large cast gravel shields on the quarters, 
mirrors, etc.) Race intended.
I saw a story about one in Popular Hotrodding in the early 80's.
I have the story, somewhere, with a photo of the car.
It was owned by a guy in California with an auto shop.
I tried contacting him by phone, but the number was no longer any good.
I'd never heard of the cars until I saw that magazine.
I guess it was true.
If not, someone went to a lot of trouble just welding up all the holes 
for the quarter trim.
