RE: 8 3/4 Diff.

I would say it depends on how far away the track is. I just swapped out
the standard 833 in my 64 Polara for an 833OD due to the 3:91's being a
PITA! The car screamed, but with gear drive, Flowmasters, and 28" tall
tires, the engine was turning 2800 rpm at 55 and it SUCKED on the
highway! I avoided the freeeway. With the OD installed 2800 rpm is
nearly 80 mph and cruising at 65 now is just about 2200. I lost a lot of
power thru the gears, but the car is SO much more enjoyable to drive
now. If I was doing the gear swap again, I wouldn't go higher than
3:73's without an overdrive.

Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person. I.e., send parts/car transactions and negotiations as well as other personal messages only to the intended recipient, not to the Clubhouse public address. This practice will protect your privacy, reduce the total volume of mail and fine tune the content signal to Mopar topic. Thanks!
