HI, One thing that I think needs to be clarified is that the steering column is NOT painted body colour. The steering column is painted the interior colour and is installed after the engine compartment is painted. That is why you may see a red column prodruding from a white firewall (or other colour combinations). Doug Baker and I did an informal study at Moparfest a couple of years ago about the front of the rad support and whether it is flat black or body colour behind the grill. The survey showed that there are inconsistancies but generally, the light coloured cars were flat black (in a poor paint job format) and the dark cars were body colour. K.
