Yeah, I know from previous experience. I am sorry your neighbor has to go
through that. I finally ended up with the Mancini unit only because they try
to make theirs look like a factory piece and it bolts in like stock, I
realize it isn't rocket science to fabricate a mount for them but I am
fanatical about the appearence of my car. I was at the track one night in
August a couple of years ago and forgot to turn my fans on and didn't
realize it until I was at the top end of the track, I was almost afraid to
look at the temp gauge but was pleasently surprised to see the car only hit
200 degrees, I couldn't believe it.!

Joey and Gary,
I can attest to that.  Neighbor has a 65 Coronet with a mild 440 and
a BeCool crossflow two core radiator. We live about 20 minutes from BeCool - he drove up and bought this new as a cosmetic blem - was assured it would
be overkill to cool his mild 440.  He was never happy with it.

BeKool is way overpriced for what you get, sometimes I think a stock
radiator works better than theirs.

Gary, for my 2cents I was having alot of cooling issues with several stock
type radiators including one from a 383 A/C Barracuda. I'm sure part of my
problem was the state of tune. However I got a Summit crossflow radiator
#SUM-381425 for $189. I spent another $90 at the radiator shop and got it
customized some. It cools waaay better. If it gets hot at the drags all I
have to do is drive it thru the pits once and it cools down. I do believe
I'll need a shroud or preferably an electric fan set-up. I think it's a much
better bargain than the BeKool $800 set-up.

Wow, just read Tech Topics in the new (Feb 2010) MoPar Action and your
question was partially answered very well + more.  Basically get rid
of full shrouds and replace with a Stock Viper (Late) or a 98 Grand
Cherokee 360 shroud & fan assembly.  It states they have serious fans
and vent flaps for
high speed driving.   The owner says it fixed his heating problems & it
took
.26 off his ET?  The article also goes onto diagnose a problem with
pressure in the system caused by galvanic corrosion 3 days after the
engine has cooled down.

Just checking with the group to see if the touted aluminum radiators
(single or double pass) and with or without electric fans & shroud do
a better job of cooling a High Performance Mopar engine (400-500HP)
better than our good old 3 core (or four core?) High Efficiency copper
radiators w/shrouds and Mopar clutch-fans?
