I think all would agree that the pain You get from paying for it, would  pail 
in comparison to the pain You would feel from buffing through an  edge.  I 
have been doing Car Show finishes for Years, and believe Me  Your back will 
thank you too!
 
Someone Who knows what they are doing will dry or wet sand (colour sand)  the 
car and work up to a minimum 1500 grit, buff with the appropriate pads  at 
the correct speed, using a non-silicone compound and swirl remover  glaze. I try 
to keep away from silicones since they can cause  problems with repainting 
down the road.
 
Any Qualified painter in a respectable Body Shop will know what He or  She is 
doing.
 
If the Car is straight it will look great and You will be glad You made the  
investment.
And a car that looks great deserves a painted pin stripe!
