{Chrysler 300} '56 Powerflite reverse

I've struggled with my 300B not going into reverse until well warmed up for quite some time. I recently found this service bulletin online regarding this problem, and sure enough, the button and cable easily work the reverse when not running, so I apparently have an issue with the reverse governor pressure, Unfortunately, I think I have damaged the torque converter from too many attempts to get it in reverse from drive.
