RE: {Chrysler 300} A/C dash vents

I am wondering the same thing. I have my '64 vents out. There appears to be a pin holding the two parts together. There also seems to be a wave washer between the two to provide resistance, but often it is not enough.

Has anyone successfully extracted the pin to get the two parts apart?

Just a quick one. Is there a good way to fix the on top of the dash vents on a 63? I know I can stick a small rubber wedge to keep them from falling but would like them functional.
