Hello, Has anyone ever drilled the cover plate of the fuel sender to place a bug in it for a return fuel line? Since I do not have a spare around, I do not know if there is enough room on the back side to fish a return pipe with seals through
the thing. {Ok, why am I asking? Two reasons. First is that a full time electric fuel pump like the old rotary vane carters like cold fuel. I once talked with the Carter Engineers about this, and they gave me instructions on putting a tee at the carb
inlet with the one side welded and then drilled to a certain size (I have it in my notes) to allow for cooling. I did this on my 1949 and it helps if stuck in stop and go on hot days. The second is if I decide to go with throttle body EFI, which needs a return
to the tank.} James.
