I'm with you on that John.
I keep a 1960 Electra four-door sedan myself bought it with 45,000 original miles has 60,000 now. Best brakes in the business among the best engines ever built although I'll rate the 401 right up there with a 413.
I've got a 62 Bonneville a 63 1/2 Ford Galaxie a 56 Fleetwood a 63 Chevy Impala convertible a 68 Chrysler New Yorker and a 1965 Corvette 396. I will admit to all and not because I'm a member of the club but because it's true, my 300 F is my favorite.

Hey before we all laugh too hard , I admit to a 60 Buick Electra 225 convert in red with buckets , 12 x3” brakes that are so much better than any mopar ever made , and zero hassle too . Yes the ones with aluminum fins on drum !445 ft lb torque no shift Dynaflow , no big fuss kick down is ever needed —- at 35 coming in on ramp . You get to really like that . Most mopar guys do not know that Dynaflow does not start in low unless you do it . It just scoots from any mph . We won’t talk about mpg . Or gpm . The real F competitor , truth be known , and more Exner than Exner ! Actually May be selling it , too many cars ..
We all have a weakness , but I do draw the line at chev or Pontiac, having suffered with a 60 FI vette. ; well , maybe a 421 Ventura coupe .. What does the horn on that Bow-Tie sound like?? Curious minds want to know!! Dave Schwandt Those that know me and have seen my collection know that I love restoring them to a very high standard. For me it’s not about the money it’s preserving pieces of history and taking great pride in the achievement. I have been lucky in life to be able to do this. I like the challenge of trying to restore a car to as close to factory as possible. 2-300F convertibles, 2-300C’s 1 hardtop, and 1 convertible, 1-300E hardtop, among some Dodges, Plymouths, and DeSoto. Oh yeah, and a ‘60 Chevy Impala convertible. Sorry ‘bout that. Boat = Bust Out another $1,000.00 ! Very Well Said!

You can just let it sit in a barn and tell everyone that you'll get to it eventually. Or not. There are no right or wrong answers. It's your money. So it's your call. Ron A boat is a just hole in the water you throw money into. I have some cars that really aren't worth spending the money to restore as I could spend less buying the same car done but I still keep them. Heck, I just bought a 60 Imperial that only cost 5 grand but the paint job and chrome work would put me upside-down. In my restoration of a similar car, the point for me was to have a project/hobby for fun and the challenge, not necessarily a financial reward. I wanted to do the work, but drew the line at bodywork and paint because I know my limits. Hobbies usually cost money – so what if it makes you happy? Don’t they say the experience of people who own sailing boats is like standing in a shower tearing up dollar bills? Cheers
