I am not familiar with Jeff's restoration though I know he does a great job. I do know that he installs an electronic voltage regulator for the instruments to replace the mechanical one that I believe is part of the oil pressure gauge on an F. The resistor thing as you call it is likely the new voltage regulator Jeff install. Give him a call and ask him

Good morning from Wisconsin,

I’m preparing to install a Jeff Carter restored astrodome (pictured on the left) in my F. I noted a resistor type connection on the back that is not present on an unrestored example. I’m not sure if my existing wiring harness has provisions for this resistor thing, as I’m not sure if I had Jeff restore the one that came out of the car.

So, which color wires connect to this thing?

Sidebar, is the ignition “hot” red wire circuit powered through through the astrodome? I ask because yesterday I tried to fire her up without the astrodome installed and I have no power at the ignition switch harness
