This is about those rubber drain tubes that drain the trunk lip. They run down inside the trunk and out through the trunk floor. I have one F with them and one F without them. The car without tubes has a May 13 build date. The car with tubes has a March 30 build date so it isn't one of those "early build versus late build" explanations. I wonder if 1960 NYr or Windors got drain tubes? What about 1961? Same trunk design, but I've never seen a 61 with them. Have you? You could let me know if your F has them and your build date and I'll make a table. Maybe there is logic, maybe not. By the way, has anyone ever checked to see if these things actually work? I think the diameter of these tubes is too small. The last time I washed the car water sat on top of the tubes. I also see standing water in the deck lid wheel cover after rain or washing which tells me the drain tube there is again too small. I'm not suggesting we drill bigger holes and install bigger tubes, just saying I think drains might have been a good idea that maybe didn't work in practice.
