RE: {Chrysler 300} Distributor wiring

Hello Bill
 Trick is to rework the canister arm. A new La canister connects via a pin small axle/pin. This is not the case on my original  ibk dist braker plate. So carfully grind off the ridge that has been pressed for holding the pin on the arm, remove pin & now you have a mounting hole that will work.
Carfully rework the bends/angle of the arm so it will fit the original pin on the braker plate.
I was so exited when i made my first one i damaged it...no problem there are plenty new ones out there! take your time bending,,i did minor grinding awell.
 Mounting holes on la will work as the dist outside radius is the same or 98%same. Check arms on pics i think you got it..

My old text;
Whats wrong with dual points?
300c Ibk-4304 almost done!
Vacuum advance absolute since long.. I reworked an vc-155can,,not that dumb as it deliver 10degree advance,,,std unit offer 11 tuned by shims! Both pulls at 9hg vaccum.
I will probebly not do another one,,,live & learn thing. If you go this route check part sum-850426 & with this you can adjust vaccum timing..nice part i ordered one but still waiting for it so just went on doing my work.. .....
Mine bench tested today worked fine!
Yes i hav a few brand new electronic dist so please no comments on why doing this please!
The show must go on!
/M

Nice how did you modify an LA can to work?  I need a vacuum can for my 300H distributor. Thanks. Bill G.

 For wires i looked for same quality that comes with a quality multimeter test probes , so all new silicon wires, high heat resistant. Worked as a charm!
Thanks Michael

Hi All,

Does anyone have a recommendation on a specific wire type to be used when rebuilding a 57 300C distributor? I am looking for a very flexible wire to renew all the internal wiring, ground strap to plate, power wires to points.
