Generally the auction owns the vehicles once you consign them. The auction where I bought my wagon at in Indiana was at the owner’s house and he was just paring down his collection. They would start the few cars that would run but mine was missing the gas tank. It had a battery in it so several people cranked it over. At some point, someone had pulled the distributor cap off and someone else tried to start it and busted the rotor off. The seller had told me it would run off a gas can but didn’t have time to start it. Hopefully the new owner of that 300C is a club member or joins. Even if this wasn't the case, the auction house doesn't want to bear the responsibility of messing with a car that doesn't belong to them. BTW, this is a 'known' car to the club. Ron From: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of nick@xxxxxxxx [Chrysler300] Seems like a good price based on your description. They didn’t do themselves any favors with their listing. When they say they didn’t even try to start the engine, that’s going to lead most people to think the engine is shot. I understand you don’t just want to throw a battery in and crank away on an engine that’s been sitting for a while but they should have had someone try to get it running. At least being a club car people could probably find out more about it. Still a lot of money to restore it. Interesting that they spent the time to show a bunch of pictures of a diecast car but not one picture underneath the actual car. Having just bought a 1960 Chrysler New Yorker Town & Country in Indiana at auction I know how it goes. I’m glad I went to see the car in person as their description was very misleading and they lied about things they knew were untrue. I paid more than I should as they had online bidding at the same time of live bidding. I had a look at the car last week. It was indeed a 48K car with original paint and zero rust. Well optioned, but hadn't run in years. The only rare item that was missing was the convertible sun visors: the arm was broken on both sides. What do folks think of the price ? Did anyone on the list buy it ? IMHO, whoever bought it got an outstanding deal.
