One reason they didn't try to start it was that the
distributor was removed and sitting in a box on the rear seat. Even if this
wasn't the case, the auction house doesn't want to bear the responsibility of
messing with a car that doesn't belong to them.
BTW, this is a 'known' car to the club.

didn’t do themselves any favors with their listing. When they say they didn’t
even try to start the engine, that’s going to lead most people to think the
engine is shot. I understand you don’t just want to throw a battery in and crank
away on an engine that’s been sitting for a while but they should have had
someone try to get it running. At least being a club car people could probably
find out more about it. Still a lot of money to restore it. Interesting that
they spent the time to show a bunch of pictures of a diecast car but not one
picture underneath the actual car. Having just bought a 1960 Chrysler New
Yorker Town & Country in Indiana at auction I know how it goes. I’m glad I
went to see the car in person as their description was very misleading and they
lied about things they knew were untrue. I paid more than I should as they had
online bidding at the same time of live bidding. From: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

ronbo97@xxxxxxxxxxx [Chrysler300] Hey Everyone
- This car just sold
today in an estate auction. I had a look at the car last week. It was
indeed a 48K car with original paint and zero rust. Well optioned, but hadn't
run in years. The only rare item that was missing was the convertible sun
visors: the arm was broken on both sides. What do folks think of
the price ? Did anyone on the list buy it ? IMHO, whoever bought it got an
outstanding deal.
