Hi graphite no good at head bearing -/ you need oil . Needs to work it’s way into that brass bearing . Graphite ok in cable shroud , although I think light oil (10) just as good particularly with used cables . Graphite is already there but carrier oil has dried up . I hang old ones up vertically for a week run 10w oil in top till it comes out bottom . Same with park brake cable . Works great for me . On park brake I use 75w Mobil one rear axle oil . Great stuff- it stays , flows a bit into cable , anti rust, and chemically stable unlike junk lubriplate white grease that turns solid .Front end grease is better if it has to be grease
