RE: [Chrysler300] AFB Bowl Volume

Hi All,

Thank you for all the input. I checked my records. Pump was installed in 2011 and filter was changed in 2013. Since 2013, all has been well. I store the car every year and there has been no problem for 6-7 yrears. When I pick it up, the pump has the usual ticking sound, but now it knocks. I have a new screw on filter (only $2.15), so I will try to replace that. Since it ran for 20-30 seconds, I think it had some gas in the carburetor bowls and maybe some in the line in front of the electric pump. It will start with starting fluid, but it quickly dies. If the filter change does not work, I will bypass it to get it home.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a new pump, if needed, now that John is out of business? Thank you.

Similar situation happened to me. Turns out the ethanol fuel had eaten the soft parts in the electric pump and the pump had tried to push the pieces down the line. I'd suggest blowing out the line just to be safe.

Mark,

It's not worth the trouble. Just install an electric fuel pump by the tank,
with a little push button under the dash. Push to pump up, hit the key, and
it starts right up. No opening the hood, spilling gas, removing the air
cleaners, etc. I got my last pump from John Lazenby, nice small unit, solid
state and alcohol resistant.

Does anyone know the volume of fuel that goes into the bowls when they
are assembled? My G sits too long between runs so I wanted to fill the
bowls through the vent to reduce crank time. I have a small oral syringe
(the condiment bottle was too big for the vent holes) and have tried
putting in 30CC per carb with little effect.
