We had the same problem with the 58 300D we restored. The bushings from suppliers are 0.94 OD. I do not recall the exact size of the bushings we removed, but they were bigger than 0.94 , actually they were in between that 0.94 and the 1.13 size of a 1960 bushing and we just could not find that particular 1958 size bushing. What we had to do is bring the upper control arms to a machine shop, they oversize the bushing hole and then pressed and welded a single piece of pipe thru the holes, cut the pipe section that is inside the A arm, then machined the hole to accept 1960 300 or NY bushings...they are readily available and at 1.13 in size, I think they are a better bushing than the small 0.94 bushing...The control arm is thick enough to be able to do the modification, the bigger bushing should last longer. If you cannot find the correct 1958 size bushing, this modification may be your only option... I took some pictures of the modification we did, if you are interested, let me know and I will dig them out... Jean-Yves Chouinard.
