Just to clarify, bolt the arms of the rotating fixture to the back of the BLOCK. Do this on the floor and then, once secure, hoist it up and slid the stand onto the rotating arm. Lock before releasing the hoist. As to the balance point, once on the stand be very careful when loosening up that lock. As Stephen said, it can violently spin over and maybe drag some of your parts with it! If you have as stand which locks it's wheels, do that whenever you're rotating the engine. Take off the top stuff first and then it gets easier to rotate. Of course, drain any fluids first. Have fun and report forthwith. If possible remove the Bell Housing and attach the engine stand mount to the Bell housing bolt locations. Depending on the engine stand capacity, that may still put a significant strain on it anyway. Be careful, when releasing the engine hoist weight support to the stand, do it slowly. Don't break it. Also, Depending on the balance point of the engine it may want to roll over. Be careful.
