Hello Transmission Guru's, I need your advice on the A466 (1960) as it should behave in Reverse. I tried to back out of the garage but the car wouldn't move. Gave it about 10 or 20% throttle and the suspension torqued a little bit as you would get doing a brake torque, but the car still wouldn't move. Since the rear wheels spin freely in Neutral, I suspected the parking brake. Next I lifted the rear wheels off the ground and with the trans in Drive, the wheels turned in the forward direction. Brought the wheels to a stop and put the trans in Reverse and the wheels still turned in the Forward direction! Can anyone offer any suggestions besides a total rebuild? Even if I have to do a rebuild, is it safe to drive as normal (except for being careful not to park where I will need Reverse)?
