I used GOJO hand cleaner without the grit to clean and soften the window gaskets and it worked really well. It takes time though, I covered the surface with the gel several times and wrapped it in suran wrap until I could safely bend the rubber into a parts bin. About once a month I brushed on more, I'm sure it would have worked better/faster if I could submerge it in the gel but after a year (while I was restoring the body) the rubber cleaned up well and was very flexible.
