I used a die grinder with a 3" cutoff wheel, which had been 'consumed' to 
about 1.5". Lie on your back and shave off the peened end of the rivet. Then 
just pop it out. Advantage is that you can reuse it.

Note: If you are the 'impatient' type, do not attempt this.
