[Chrysler300] Over Heating

The cooling system needs to have a thermostat for several reasons. One is for wear. You will get 3 times more wear on the cylinder walls at 120 degrees compared to 180 degrees.

The water pump has to have something to push against to keep the pump and water from cavatating which will cause over heating and no water flow.
It will keep warm air to keep your body warm. The larger thermostats help flow more water is ok , But is really designed for larger Radiators that need more water. Such as motor Homes, Trucks etc.
