Re: [Chrysler300] electric window motor removal ?

Note that there are 2 wires plugging into the motor. The motor body is
not a ground.
With + in the first wire and - in the second, the window will go up.
With - in the first wire and + in the second, the window will go down.

But, check with a volt meter first, probe in one wire and the other
probe grounded. Work the switch, if no reading, try the other way. If
power is present, switch to the other wire and work the switch the
other way to see if power is present there. Powered both ways, the
motor just may be dirty. No power, it's the switch. They come apart
and are easily repaired. PIA, but repairable.

p.s.: I've pushed down or pulled up on the window and got the window
working again. That moves the motor a little and gets it off the dirty
spot so it can make contact and run.

Hi Jeff:

Before removing the window, make sure that the switch is in fact
working. So by-pass the switch assembly by feeding 12 volts power
directly to the motor by simply unplugging the plug near the motor and
feeding the power directly in there. You may have to reverse your feed
wires to get the motor to go in the right direction. I doubt very much
that the motor is burnt. You could also check with a volt meter to
make sure that +12 volts is in fact reaching the motor feed. Fern
