Re: [Chrysler300] BlueStreaking

300's ; While we are on tires. I recently sold a 61 parts car to a friend, who parting it out as all he wants is the 413 and transm. But two of the tires were flat, so I took off the wheels and took in two off the tires that were on my 300 . Which looked good to me. The tire guy looked at them and said their insurance would not allow them mount them, as they were TOO OLD and dangerous. He explained that when they were just a local shop there was no problems but since joining up with the "tire shop" chain, the rules changed.
Whats your opinion of running the OE "blue streak" at 300 speeds. Would they not be too old to be safe.??? Anyone need 61 Imp part?? contact me off line before e-bay gets them.

  Edward,

You say that back in the day there was no extra charge for mounting the run flats of the time. As I understand what is happening now with the 'dubs' and run flats on passenger cars is that tire shops that handle rthe special 22" wheels and all do charge extra which is smart,in my opinion. In our shop we will work with 20 and 22.5" truck tires and have mounted run flats for Hummers with all the grease and mess with, believe me, "some extra charge".
