When I worked at Chrysler Central Engineering, I remember the guys from the  
"Jack Lab", (Or wherever) coming down the driveway between the buildings.   
They would pick out the test car(s) of their choice that happened to be parked  
there, jack them up as high as they could and then knock them off the jacks to 
 see what broke!  Great fun, in "the time"....

The correct jack for a 55 will only have a small arm that will fit under  the 
bumper and hopefully not slide off when jacking it. I believe it is  the 
same as what I have on my 49 and 50's also but need to check one of  these 
days to see if there are differences. One with a hook will be from  later 
models.

Not a very safe thing to use on the car at all. But  still handy(better than 
nothing!) for emergencies.
