Hi Michael: I would very much recommend getting a cam shaft from "Hughes Engines". They normally stock quite a variety of different cams and they deal strictly with Mopar stuff. Their cams are much better than that old stuff from the mid sixties as these are now computer generated and they work very well. They do have a web site which is www.hugesengines.com and they can be reached at 309-745-9558. I would speak to either Ken or Kevin as they really know their stuff. I got a cam from them for my 1962 300H with solid lift and it works great. Bob, who is a friend of Gary Goers, is who told me about those folks. He's been using their cams in 1960 imperial conv with 413, as well as in 1960 300F ht and conv and was going to use the same source for 1958 300D and 1960 plymouth cross ram engine as well. If you would like to talk to Bob and get his thoughts on this, please email me directly and I will pass on his phone number. I will definitely be getting the cam for my 65 300L conv 4 speed car when I get to restore it in next couple of years. I would also recommend that you get your engine balanced as it makes a tremendous difference in engine performance when that is done. It will idle much better and will really be very responsive when stepping on the gas pedal.
