Hi,

We just loaded the engine / transmission assembly into a truck to
deliver for installation into the car.

I did a bonehead move and tore the transmission mount. This is the
rubber isolator that goes between the tailshaft and the transmission
mounting brace.

Anybody have one? Where can I get one?

Thanks,

Richard Osborne

I believe there is some reaction between the brass and the float arm.
Every one
of the floats develop a very small pin hole under the float arm and the
grove in
the brass float. I tried soldering the hole and it works for a short time
then
another shows up I think my next one I'm going to put the float on the arm
and
then dip it in gas tank sealer. We will se how that works

Hi all,

I have another hubcap related question: Does anyone have any suggestions
for
hubcaps I could put on my 300F when taking it into town? I'd hate to see
the
original hubcaps stolen from my car (I live in Chicago). Looking for ideas
for inexpensive good-looking alternates to the real thing.

Thanks,
Alex

Most wrecking yards have tons of wheel covers. Check with them and
pick what you like. They should have 14 inch covers.

Hubcap day hooray! Might as well join in..
Wanted:
1 - '57 300C cap &
1 - '58 300D cap.

I've found 3 of each year's cap, and now need just one of each to make
complete sets for my 57s. Crappy caps would be fine; these aren't gonna be
showcars on my budget.

Many, many thanks & have a great week. mike v

Ps. Sand is gone; driveway beach is now closed. Thanks to all who
visited. Tonight's driveway activity: car painting. Lawn seating still
available.

finally put the radials on & will be doing an alignment after a small
front end repair. I appear to have lost the alignment specs for my F
that were posted here some time ago. May not have printed them out
before my hard drive crashed. 1) could someone who has them please
forward them to me, & 2) Any thoughts as to whether the specs should be
different with the radials vs the bias plys. Thanks

Brass float problem.
I repaired a brass sinker for a collector and observed that the loop at
the
end of float arm puts to much pressure on the thin wall of the brass
float.
This causes it to crack.
Remedy: Open up the loop slightly to take off excess pressure. Float
should
actually rotate when in place. Then solder the float arm to the brass
float. You will have to tin float wire arm. You should have a permanent
fix.
